First plum harvest...........

.......... from my newest plum tree, a Victoria, bought from the now defunct Woolworths in Sherborne for £5.99. First harvest has yielded 11lbs, some of the best plums I've ever tasted. Very pleased :)

Creative yoghurt buying

I make my own quite often, but sometimes it just has to be bought lol
Half price for 4 x Yeo Valley organic plain yoghurts with honey.
Not only that, the pots are going to make beautiful moulds for the soap I am just about to make. That's what made me eye them up in the first place, yoghurt was a delicious bonus lol
Bargain.

6 square inches............

...... or thereabouts. Every time I pass the churchyard on my way up or down the street, depending, I stop by the end of it and have a look at this tiny patch of the earth
There is a huge amount to watch there- all sorts of insects scuttling about, the gradual decay of various leaves, the conkers, twigs -  so much going on in such a wee space.

Food for a Tuesday............

Right . Don't laugh. When I looked the other day, there were a rather respectable (for a first ever crop) 7 blueberries. This morning,  this was the sum total of the harvest:
Twas tasty though! lol

The first of the Devonshire Quarrendens are ready now; do try and taste one if you can, a very special apple:

The new cheese is out of the press too , today, looking good, can't wait to taste it:

Portland

We spent a few hours down on Portland yesterday; weather was perfect for a visit to the shore - bright and sunny, not to warm due to a good stiff breeze. I spent an hour or so sitting on a rock just looking out over the sea. A special place.
The iconic Portland Bill lighthouse, right 'on the end'

Imagine living in one of these wee cottages; would love that, especially in the winter.

Had a good pint of Ringwood bitter here.....................

This little collection of ramshackle building held boating equipment and fishing gear and things. Imagine if this were a house, looking out over the sea like that.............. little piece of heaven............

There was time aplenty to sit and watch this container ship travel from one side of the scene right to the other and out fo sight, possibly en route to Ireland........... we were trying to guess what it was carrying, could have been anything..........

Always time for a bit of alfresco crochet !

Wonderful time
